These are perfect for Halloween, Earth Day, or Father’s Day if Dad is a fisherman. There are a lot of recipes around the net, but I chose this one because it’s crystal clear with tons of pictures on how to make the dirt topping. The better you make the dirt, the more you get the effect of the worm coming out of the cupcake. These black bottom cupcakes look amazing in real life because of the contrast between the black and white. The black is devils food or just your best chocolate, the white is a cream cheese filling. I encourage you to experiment with different fillings and cupcake recipes. When you get the combination just right, it’s like heaven. I love these cupcakes because they look so much harder to make then they really are. The key to this is the white chocolate covered pretzel bodies. When you first glance at the skeleton, you can quickly see that the head is a marshmallow but it’s hard to tell what the ribcage is made from, until you know it’s a pretzel, in fact 3 pretzels. I realize it’s only September but we are 2 months from Halloween and it’s time to start cooking and trying out recipes. I say “trying out” because Halloween cupcakes can be tricky like these clear caramel broken glass cupcakes. The Martha Stewart recipe is just crap when it comes to the clear glass, which in my opinion makes or breaks the cupcake. From the reviews of the recipe I wasn’t the only frustrated one. As I try to fight the end of summer, I am compelled to continue to bake things summery. Usually I’m all for fall and fall flavors and I will eventually get there, but why rush it…right? The best part about these lemonade cupcakes is that they are actually infused with Lemonade. The cupcakes are pierced and a syrup is poured inside and then they are frosted. Pure Lemony Perfection!

When you think about a peanut butter and Jelly sandwich, you are instantly thrust back to the school yard and the taste of the best food combination on the planet; or at least so you thought so at the time. Wash that sandwich down with some chocolate milk and you were ready to take on the biggest slide in the park.
This PB&J delight is topped with a Nutter Butter cookie and infused with strawberry jam throughout. The good part is, you are not a kid anymore and you can eat these before dinner.
Warning – baking too long can cause these to be dry. Monitor your bake time closely.

I have to admit, I wasn’t ready. I had know idea what I was in for. I actually had to make this twice because the banana cupcakes came out so good, and I got a phone call interrupting my baking so I just served those up.
The second time I completed the recipe, the third time, I added cherries in between and on top. The possibilities are endless! Like the recipe advices, follow the directions and make two batches.
