Hot Chocolate Marshmallow Topped Straight Candy Cane Cupcakes

Despite our kicking and screaming, winter is setting in upon us, so this is the first of my “hot chocolate cupcake recipes”.  This isn’t really hot chocolate but it looks like a cup of hot chocolate.  These types of recipes are my favorite because they look so much harder than they really are and they always taste good.  If you are a baker like me,  you know that taste is sometime easier to achieve then looks.

Just think regular cupcakes, with a frosting made with confectioners’ sugar, shortening and milk.  Spread that on top with some mini marshmallows and stick a candy cane sick in the side.

Melting Marshmallow Snowman Cupcake Recipe

These are just the cutest things.  The more expressions that you can put on the snowman’s faces the better.  This is one of those super-easy execution recipes that can be done with any flavor of cupcake and any flavor of little cookie for the hat.
