I swear Oreo’s have to be one of the most versatile baking cookies in the world. In the fall/winter/spring I’m not that big into “No Bake” recipes however, I saw this recipe and we had some extra Philadelphia cream cheese and I needed a reason to go buy Oreo’s so this was the perfect fit.
The author of this is a woman after my own heart. She took the recipe that was posted on the Australian Philadelphia cream cheese site, simplified it and in my opinion made them more visually appealing. Now instead of crushing Oreo for a crust, you can just lay down one full Oreo – the trick as you will see and learn, is getting the Oreo Cream Cheese mixture to sit on the Oreo in a perfect cylinder. Probably the hardest part of the recipe.

I realize there is no shortage of Oreo cupcake recipes, event this site might have a dozen however…this is one of those recipes that look like a lot more work than they really are. There is nothing like people thinking you slaved over a hot stove for hours – it just might buy you 30 minutes of peace and quiet.
The secret here is Crescent roll dough. What you see that gives this dessert the cupcake like appearance is actually crescent roll dough placed in your muffin pan. But these are Mini’s, so that is a mini Oreo and these are bite-sized. This means you will have to make a lot. I lost six of them somewhere between my oven and the dining room table (my stomach and waistline found them).
You will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome; this joins the list of my favs.

There are some people who are partial to pie rather than cake. These people are deprived of that pie sensation as there really isn’t anything like a cup-pie, only cupcakes….until now. Not really, but sort of. In my search to find and make the ultimate Super Bowl cupcakes I stumble on these Applely, cinnamonny, sugary beauties and I just had to roll up my sleeves and go to town.
These smelled so delicious, two of them met their demise before getting frosted. The frosting is Vanilla butter cream, however, please feel free to top with the richest, most decadent vanilla ice cream your heart so desires. Hot apples and cold ice cream – bring on the snow and the fireplace. Life is Good!!

This cupcake is more about what you can do creatively then the recipe.
Once you see the picture everything else should fall in place, but for those who like a step by step I have still included the link to the recipe below.
At first glance the only thing that was questionable was how in the heck did they make the red thing that hangs down from the turkey’s neck. I believe that is called a “Wattle”. If you remember Allie McBeal then you will indeed remember he Wattle. Anyhow, this is made by any super meticulous person who wants to take a fruit roll up and cut and stick a wattle in the side of a Their Nutter butter bodied Turkey.
Good Luck with that.
For me, my wattle-less cupcakes look just perfect and ready for tomorrow’s Pre-Thanksgiving Day festivities. Right now my real turkey is ready to go in the oven and I’m ready to go in the tub. After fighting an old lady for the last bag of marshmallows, hurdling a shopping cart like OJ Simpson at an airport and dragging groceries in like I’m competing in the Kettle Bell lift of a strongman competition, I’m ready for bed….and the guests haven’t arrived yet.
I hope you are having just as much fun. Happy Thanksgiving.

Every now and then I venture onto a recipe that is just a little bit out of my comfort zone in regards to difficulty. This is a little different because it’s actually a Meringue. I’m used to things taking 25 minutes to bake but when I read the instructions I couldn’t believe it actually said 3 hours!!
I actually had to go to Google and type, “How long does it take to bake meringues!” Because I did not believe it. The result should be sort of dry and hard on the outside and soft on the inside. I did not quite make it. In fact, whatever I called myself making looked nothing like the picture and was barely edible.
You win some you lose some and I lost this one. At least I had some ice cream and berries and whip cream to snack on why I watched Scandal.
Hit the Recipe button below and try your luck. Enjoy!
