Oreo Crust Cheesecake Cupcakes with Reese’s Pieces Topping (Recipe)

Could there really be such a creation that is one part cheesecake,  one part Oreo and one part Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup?  Can all three of these whimsical treats play together in the confines of a standard sized cupcake liner?  Yes!!

This recipe can be made as a full cheesecake or you can execute the recipe like Matthew and Olia from Plting Pixels did.  If you choose to make the cupcakes you will have to make the crushed cookie crust first and then scoop it into the cupcake liners.  After that’s complete you  fill the remainder of the liner with the cheesecake mix, bake and your done.

Oreo Cheese Cake bites

I swear Oreo’s have to be one of the most versatile baking cookies in the world. In the fall/winter/spring I’m not that big into “No Bake” recipes however, I saw this recipe and we had some extra Philadelphia cream cheese and I needed a reason to go buy Oreo’s so this was the perfect fit.

The author of this is a woman after my own heart. She took the recipe that was posted on the Australian Philadelphia cream cheese site, simplified it and in my opinion made them more visually appealing. Now instead of crushing Oreo for a crust, you can just lay down one full Oreo – the trick as you will see and learn, is getting the Oreo Cream Cheese mixture to sit on the Oreo in a perfect cylinder. Probably the hardest part of the recipe.

Oreo Bite Minis

I realize there is no shortage of Oreo cupcake recipes, event this site might have a dozen however…this is one of those recipes that look like a lot more work than they really are.  There is nothing like people thinking you slaved over a hot stove for hours – it just might buy you 30 minutes of peace and quiet.

The secret here is Crescent roll dough.  What you see that gives this dessert the cupcake like appearance is actually crescent roll dough placed in your muffin pan.  But these are Mini’s, so that is a mini Oreo and these are bite-sized.  This means you will have to make a lot.  I lost six of them somewhere between my oven and the dining room table (my stomach and waistline found them).

You will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome; this joins the list of my favs.

Oreo Brownie Cupcakes – Recipe

logo

IMG_3233

Let’s make this clear from the start, that is a mini Oreo  you are looking at in the picture.  The cupcake is not that big, which unfortunately was the main reason I was initially attracted to this recipe.  That being said, once I read what exactly was going on, I wasn’t mad.  I needed to make these, and I needed to make them quick.

The thing that seperates this oreo recipe from the dozen others is the frosting.  I have never made frosting from Oreno cookies before.  How crazy is that.  If it tastes as good as it sounds, I thought, this would be amazing and it did, and it was.  Cream cheese, butter sugar and 20 double stuff Oreos are used to make the frosting and that goes on top of a brownie cupcake!  That frosting can be heaped on a piece of wood and it would be an acceptable dessert.

My only caution here, is have a glass of milk, a cup of coffee or some other beverage you like to eat with your cake, because this goes down thick and good.  The challenge here is finding the mini oreos for the cute little Oreo on top.   I wasn’t so lucky so I ended up putting half a full size.  Either way it doesn’t last so it really isn’t that important.

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie [Recipe]

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie [Recipe]

I realize that this isn’t a cupcake, but this isn’t really a cookie either.  This thing deserves its own dessert name.

REWIND: My daughter was having a bake sale, an event where I am hands down usually the star of the show.  My little table is always swarmed; my little tin box of money is usually overflowing with bills.  I can’t keep the cupcake platter stocked.  I’m in my element!  I’ m in my world baby!!  UNTIL TODAY…….

What’s going on over there?  There is a table across the room that is getting all the attention.  From my seat, I can see that they are not even selling cupcakes.  Who’s trying to outdo me?

Irritated, I get up and March across the room to see what’s going on.  Low and behold, it appears to be a thick-ass chocolate chip cookie.  So what!  What’s the big deal here?  Mrs. Lucy who is manning the table, tells me to try one.  Frustrated by all the hub-bub over what appears to be just a chocolate chip cookie, I grab one and shove it in my mouth.

OH MY!  OH MY WORD.  There is a freakin’ OREO inside this cookie!!!  I was going to divorce my husband and leave my kids and runaway with the cookie platter.  Not giving Mrs. Lucy the satisfaction of knowing she had just given me my first “Big O”reo aka a Mouth-gasim, I had to find this recipe and create it for myself.  Of course as soon as I tracked down the recipe I had to share it with my fans.

Here a picture is worth a thousand words – could it really be that easy?  Yes.
